The 75 participants in this conference, drawn from the National Human Rights Institutions (NHRI) from South East Asia, UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, the Executive Office of the President, the Government of Indonesia and from supportive civil society, indigenous representatives and international organisations, including from Nepal, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Thailand, met in Pontianak in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, between the 11 th and 12th October 2017, to consider ways of ensuring State and Non-State actors respect, protect, fulfil and remedy human rights in the agribusiness sector. The meeting included representatives from Golden Agri-Resources, Asia Pulp and Paper and Sime Darby. The meeting was hosted by the National Human Rights Commission of Indonesia (KomnasHAM), Pusaka and LinkARBorneo, with the support of the Forest Peoples Programme.
